Bonjour!
A detailed report from my participation in the accompanying event of the Race to the Sun, or the popular Paris-Nice race, which took place from March 5th to 12th in France. For the last 3 days, cyclists descend to the French Riviera to decide the fate of the competition.
On the eve of the end of the professional race, there is a chance to feel the atmosphere of the World Tour series competition. Cycling enthusiasts can sign up for the Paris-Nice Challenge, a bike riding event that promotes cycling regardless of age, gender or origin. I would call this event a ride or a journey – it is definitely not a race, mainly due to the lack of time measurement, which gives the event a truly romantic, joyful and relaxed character. Finally, I was able to be on the French Riviera at that time, it would be a sin not to take part in such an event.
It was also part of the Krakow MJ Pro Tour Cycling Trip to the French Riviera, so its participants were also with me.
128 km in length, 2600 meters in altitude difference, and almost exactly the same route that the riders would tackle the following day in the final stage of Paris-Nice. In our event, everyone won without exception, and in the main race, Tadej Pogacar won.
I invite you to follow the route, which will make it easier for you to decide whether to take part in this beautiful initiative. Of course, I strongly encourage you to do so!
So, see you next year?
