Where are we going?
Cinematic Magic of the French Riviera: From Cannes to Saint-Tropez.
The French Riviera, also known as the Sunny French Riviera, is the European capital of cinema. Cities like Cannes and Saint-Tropez have been attracting the attention of both movie stars and lovers of great cinematic productions for years. The famous Cannes Film Festival, which has been going on for over 70 years, is an event awaited by both famous faces from around the world and avid cinephiles. The red carpet on the steps of the Cannes Festival Palace is also waiting for you, providing unforgettable moments and the opportunity to take a photo on the famous runway. But did you know that the first films by the Lumière brothers were made in the vicinity of Saint-Tropez? It is there that you can delve into the history of cinema by visiting the Museum of Cinema, dedicated to both the unforgettable Louis De Funes and the cinema icon Brigitte Bardot. Two completely different locations, but equally important to the history of cinema. And for dessert? Exploring the Provencal Venice, the charming town of Port Grimaud, is best started from the deck of an electric boat.
On the agenda, among others:
- Saint Tropez (~3h) – a walk through the town and the port, a visit to the Museum of Cinema (admission ticket costs 5€/person).
- Port Grimaud (~1-2h) – a walk through the town, the possibility of renting an electric boat (cost 30€/hour, the boat accommodates up to 5 people).
- St. Raphael + Massif L’Esterel – an attractive return along the coast.
- Cannes (~2h) – a walk through the town: the old town, the port, the Festival Palace.
Saint-Tropez is famous not only for its luxurious yachts but also for the iconic nightclub, Senequier, which is often visited by celebrities.
Port Grimaud delights with its charm of picturesque canals, resembling a romantic Venetian scenery, enriched with Provencal charm. Its colorful facades of houses along the shore, boat docks, and blooming vines make walking through it a journey through time to the magical world of seaside dreams.
The St. Raphael coastline route leads through scenic cliffs and azure bays, offering unforgettable views of the Mediterranean Sea. The combination of this coastline with the Massif L’Esterel creates a magical contrast between turquoise waters and red rocks, forming a unique landscape.
Cannes is also home to the famous Carlton hotel, which has hosted many movie stars and has been the backdrop for many movie scenes.
